with you guys as the developers, i have trust in NFS again :). The graphics already are stunning as far as we may see. So i'm really looking forward to it :D. Maybe a possible demo in the nearby future? (for the ps3 perhaps? :D)

SMS please let me explain a few things about what we, the TRUE racing fans, are looking for.

1.)Real Physics: No arcade, or "Beyond human control" type physics. We don't want to be able to go 230MPH and then stop on a dime and make a 90 degree turn at 200mph. Give us real weight transfer and realistic grip.

2.)Damage models that can be set to the following:
a.) Arcade: so the kids can play without wrecking out the first corner they try to take full throttle.
b.) Simulation: That way us seasoned pro's can play with real consiquences to wrecks.

3.)Pay attention to how the car turns: Do not give us the Center Axis turn. Too many racing games do this. Give us cars with real C.O.G's (Center of Gravity) and real Weight Distribution which both affect how different cars turn.

4.) Tracks: Give us as many real world locales as possible. Real world tracks are the best. Who doesn't want to blast through the downhill corkscrew at Laguna Seca in a GM Corvette Race Car?

5.) Stay away from the streets: NEVER EVER EVER EVER do you see full fledged race cars on the street, so don't put it in the game. Sure street based road courses are fine (Long Beach Grand Prix), but last thing I want to do is race a Ferrari FXX down the freeway.

6.) Listen to the SIM fans: Listen to who your customers are. We want a SIM racer, not an arcade racer. If you cater to the Arcade crowd we will go elsewhere. If they want arcade they can go play Burnout Paradise.

7.) Give us functional pits: If I happen to get rearended I want to be able to go to the pits and fix my damage.

If you follow these few simple requests you will make what would be possibly the best racing sim out there. Thank you for your time.

Looks great. Please make a option during on-line play to set all racers for the inside view.
Thanks, Russ

actually, some question about SHIFT is, is it not fully development by SMS?

1. The official website news is much fresh just like the teaser or the 2000GT-R screenshot, we can't found any of them in here, is it the control already giving to EA Black box?

2. From the Audi2 screenshot, we can see a very beautiful sharder, right? But in the new screenshot from SHIFT official site (http://ll.needforspeed.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/needforspeed.com/images/news/SHIFT/SHIFT_S14.jpg) is just like Pro Street(May be because of the copying track from NFSPS, i hate this track)The headlight detail is horrible and the whole picture is much likely to yellow color!~GRID?

Just hope that SMS can really do a great job on car simulation since it won't be a crap Pro Street 2..........~

Dear SMS managment and developers,

This gets the sim-racer in me excited about this game. It looks fantastic like GRID, possibly much better (wont know until we see more in-game footage) but I have a couple requests and I hope someone at SMS reads this.

I consider myself a hardcore sim racer. Games like GTR are something i play year around for a sense of realism I dont get from Forza/Gran Turismo or other games that compromise realism for ease of use. I 'enjoy' having the car react using realistic physic models because the knowledge i learn i can apply when I do lapping (track) days.

SMS is promoting this like it could be an actual sim and not a car collectors game (ie, Forza/GT5) or an arcade game (ie, GRID). Saying things like this:
"With such a large demographic appeal with Need for Speed over a dozen or more years of development… we have a very diverse fanbase; you have people who really want skilled mastery of each vehicle and people who just want to race, balls-out arcade style. Shift brings us much more to a more realistic, authentic race experience, and the design we're looking to deliver this year is really for the enthusiast, more so than the arcade racer." Jesse Abney - NFS Producer.

First, if you can, be the first game to really communicate elevation changes to the driver. I can see the elevation change in sim racers but I don't 'feel' it like going down the hill after the corkscrew turn at Laguna Seca Raceway. Almost no game communicates this experience or sensation of elevation. The experience in-gameis lacking so i have to pull from my real life experiences to fill in the gaps. Sure the technical data might be right in the game itself for the actual elevations, but it just doesn't feel really right... It would be amazing if you guys could figure it out.

Second, if you guys have the backend and the physics down like interviews say you do, and if your hands are being forced to tone back the physics and make this a game that gives you unrealistic amounts of grip at insane velocities when cornering (ie every console racer except probably Race Pro) then offer a 'sim' physics setting where people can actually turn the realism we know SMS is capable of, ON! Let us enjoy a driving experience and not just a balls to the wall arcadey racing experience.

I appreciate it if anyone at SMS got this far..

Good luck with finishing up this game, I hope myself and the niche of true race-sim fans out there like me won't be disapointed. In other words, to use an analogy. Please don't market this game and tell everyone that this is a tube frame racecar of a racing game. We get in and find out you gave us a production car loaded with so much weight and safety features to the point that it's dull and uncommunicative when on the track. Please stick to what makes racing fun, you brits know the Lotus philosophy. Keep this game focused on being purely one thing, don't compromise and you wont upset your fan base because people will love it or hate it, instead of dismiss it. Race Pro went full sim, they just fell on their faces when it came to production quality. I doubt you guys will have that problem.

SMS is just going to smash all racing game in the earth~
but should this game makes more new car but not just copy the car from previous NFS?
And also the cockpit should be a part of the "world" model, not one model for cockpit, one for world model.(Since the first game of SMS is made like this)
I hope that it really a Realistic racing game like Live For Speed and features DirectX11!~(Since Microsoft said this one is one of the DX11 Game)

Hello !
My english is not the best, sorry for that.please.I read the Pc Games and the artikel of NFS shift.I was looking for your game i just hear about it and i remember the sentence of your producer that you would have the "Best Grafiks" ever.Than your Lead Game Desiner describes your Game as a Simulation and that you wanna go with ea three ways for this Franchise. And shift is the product for the "older" people(sorry i miss the right word in your language).Than i must read, and after it i was laughiing and after thinking of it and your Story i must crying.Realy! When people have a accident you don t want to strafe them ,and nothing happens only eyecatching! Please dont make the same mistake with ea they killed the best racing game in his area,NASCAR and ea makes it kaputt(German word)They roll it for the wall!!Money is not everything!!

You are the people who brings me with GTR and GTR2 GT legends so much fun,and i drive races in EUROPA_LIGA with this Games, but we all have big PC-Machines here now and all waiting for a New Product. So we all was looking for you, because you say,you wanna be a simulation. You also say, that your Team dont want a second Prostreet, but with a real racing Feeling and good looking cars etc. and when the real rules be end outside my car, because my accident have no consequenz is just poor for crying.,but i cant go up,fair driving,i see that i make a good history in driving and i can go on to know that i will go better this is what Racing games makes out.
Every component is needed for a good challenge.Look for the grid Servers is terrible. The younger people want satisfaction in 10 minutes, but you say you want do this game for us older people.
Dont miss me wrong,I dont play this game in this time, but i was realy hoping that you remember your own promisses.

Nice wishes from my commnunity

Hopefuly Ingo

p.s ...some man from your Team says something realy good,You cant makes Race Games for everybody, some want a simulation with everything what it needs, some wanna a arcade racer, but we know now that you cant mix this two different genres.we saw it with Pro Street.!

So dont makes the same mistake again, your name is good but not everything...
