What we saw till now is that Shift is aiming at the arcade game genre. Looks a lot like Race Driver Grid from what i've seen.

When the sim or not to sim question is asked, the only answer we get is "Shift is not a sim, it's a fun game and a first person driver experience".

So, can we consider Shift as a sim when we play with g25 wheel with all aids switched off ? Will it be beyond sim racing genre ? Can this game be above PGR, Grid, etc and also above GTR when all aids are unlit ?

It was unfortunate that at EA's E3 booth for SHIFT, there was no FFB wheel setup to be seen. I was looking forward to at least see how well the game would drive with a proper sim setup but while the regular setup gave a good impression of how the game is turning out visually, it failed to answer the most pertinent question for me: is there any chances that SHIFT will be as good as GTR2 when it comes to the driving physics.
And unfortunate thing is that in all the SHIFT videos released during E3, the driving was so bad that it's quite laughable. The marketing for this game need to take a shift (no pun intended) for the better- it's okay to go after the casual racer but it would be a waste after all the effort SMS has put in to this game, that EA would ignore the market that SHIFT is clearly should be aimed at - the racing enthusiast which may include but not necessarily just sim racer.
Right now the sim aspect is this game is purely speculative and while I'm looking forward to the upcoming demo which would hopefully address some of my question, I just feel that as a game SHIFT has a potential to reach to a much larger audience that what it is now being marketed to.

Why you never show the best thing of SHIFT --- the pro setting of SHIFT which show this game is really a sim-racing game?, but every times you just use controller to play the game.......sad~ Or may be the engine of SMS is just a arcade racing game engine so you try to hide this fact till the demo release......
