Sunsetting Project CARS Go
We have some news which we wanted to share with you on the Project CARS franchise.
As some of you will remember, we first launched Project CARS six years ago. We wanted to create the most authentic racing simulation game ever and the reaction we received from our community was overwhelming. Millions of you said you loved the game and we’ve been working hard to try to bring the franchise to even more players.
We launched Project CARS Go for mobile earlier this year to allow you to experience the series in a whole new way. We were pleased that some of you said you loved this new, casual format. However, many of you have expressed that the game doesn’t capture the thrill of the sport like the PC or console version, or do it justice.
This has been difficult and humbling to hear, but it’s important that we listen to what you have to say. When we established SMS in 2009, we had a vision of creating award-winning simulation games focused on authentic racing and we need to stay true to this original ambition.
We’ve been looking at what we can do about this for some time and it’s with a heavy heart to share that we’ve decided to sunset Project CARS Go.
What this means is from October 31st 2021, the Project CARS Go app will no longer be available in the App Store or Google Play. If you have previously downloaded the app, you will continue to see it on your home screen unless you delete it. In other words, you can continue to play the game even past October 31st but our team of engineers and customer service will only be on hand to support you until November 30th 2021.
This includes to help you process refunds for paid currencies you have left in your account. If this applies to you, scroll to the bottom for information on how to claim a refund.
We understand that some of you may find this news disappointing and we’re sorry. Moving forward, our priority is to concentrate on our other upcoming projects and ensure they meet the ambitions and desires of both our players and studio team. In other words, we’re focusing on making the best simulation games based on authenticity and we look forward to sharing more when the time is right.

How can you claim a refund
We will be refunding all players who have currencies in their account. You can only claim a refund for currencies you have paid for until November 30th 2021.
To claim this, you should email the customer support team on https://customer.withhive.com/, and you will need the following information:
- HIVE ID
- CS CODE
- Market (IOS/Google)
- For Google Play, your Gmail address
No refunds will be offered on currencies that were earned in game through events, rewards or in-game play, or that were purchased after October 31st 2021.
